The Australian Outback Marathon
Northern Territory, Australia
www.australianoutbackmarathon.com

The Australian Outback Marathon is a truly unique running event held in the country's spectacular 'red centre', just west of the Simpson Desert.

The route takes runners through the Uluru-Kata Tjutu National Park and provides stunning views of Ayers Rock (Uluru) and The Olgas ( Kata Tjuta) at just about every turn.

Most of the course is on unsealed roads, bush tracks and soft-sand trails along with a number of sand dunes.

Running through the rich red earth of Australia's outback will most certainly be a challenging but no doubt unforgettable experience.
